Last week, the sororities Zeta Omega Chi, Delta Delta Nu and the fraternities Gamma Sigma Chi and Delta Alpha Lambda competed in a weeklong competition to fight for the Greek Week trophy. The theme for the week was for the campus to focus on service within the Greek community.
Greek Week consisted of a photo hunt that each chapter was required to complete, trivia night, the all-chapter meeting, Greek olympics, Greek sing, and a toga-themed basketball game.
The Greek community focused on giving back in the midst of competition by accepting canned good donations throughout the week.
“I love partcipating in each of the activities that we competed in last week. My fraternity enjoyed every second of the competition, and we are proud to say that we took home this year’s Greek Week title,” Dominique Adams, Gamma Sigma Chi member, said.
After calculating the scores from all the events, the Gamma Sigma Chi fraternity was presented with the Greek Week trophy at the UPIKE vs. Brescia basketball game Friday, Nov. 7.
“Overall, I am very happy with the outcome. The chapters have so many opportunities to bond and make memories. The Greek community came together for common goals. The competition gave chapters momentum to be better and to try new ideas,” Emily Romito, director of first year experience and student activities, said.
