The Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges and Universities (AIKCU) is now accepting applications for the Frankfort Semester Internship Program for spring 2015. For those interested in this opportunity, AIKCU intern coordinator Richard Wilson held a few meetings Tuesday, Oct. 14 in the Armington Science Building, Frankfort program alumna Elisha Taylor a was also on hand to answer questions.
The internship, which runs through the entire spring 2015 semester, allows students to work 30 hours per week and earn up to 15 credit hours as they enhance skills that will help in their future career endeavors. Students have the opportunity to work alongside state legislators, aiding in creation and passing of bills, as well as other duties in the legislative process. Students have the option to work with lobbying firms as well as a variety of state agencies. In addition to 15 credit hours, there is a $2,500 stipend.
