UPIKE hosts its first Black Card Revoked

Black Card Revoked is a game which tests how black someone is when asked questions on black culture. Three teams of two take turns answering questions. After three rounds, the team with the least amount of questions right is eliminated, and a new team takes their place. Questions can from multiple choice to guessing song. William Wheeler, president of the BSU, introduced this game to UPIKE because he and other students of the Black Student Union played this game at their state conference last year, and they had so much fun. “This game and many others having to pertain with black culture are pretty new,” Wheeler said. “So, I think if people have never heard of them they may want to give it a try.” Wheeler and many other students who came out to the event had a great time. It was great to see students come together and celebrate difference. Students like Cedric Thomas liked seeing the interaction of students he had seen before. “Not only black could attend. All students could attend,” said Thomas. “Once word get around about how good Black Card Revoked went, more and more students will attend upcoming events.” “It was really fun and, in a way, assuring,” said Alexandria Alexis. “Most of the questions were not text book ready; there were questions about growing up in a black community.”
