Last week, University of Pikeville Director of Film & Media Arts, Andrew Reed announced that the Film & Media Arts program at UPIKE will be partnering with the Kentucky Film Association in the near future.
Reed was especially excited for this announcement as it means the students in the Film & Media Arts program will have more career opportunities than ever before.
There is a training program within the Kentucky Film Association that would normally cost roughly $200 in order to participate. However, Reed is working toward allowing students to participate in the training for free.
“There will be an online component where you do at your own pace, and then you have a real world work day where you will meet up with some Kentucky-based people in the film industry that regularly do these shoots,” Reed said.
The Film & Media Arts program only continues to grow at UPIKE.
