Crisp returns to University of Pikeville
0As of Oct. 1, UPIKE and the office of student success has had a somewhat new face on campus.
Matthew Crisp is the new assistant director of student success, and though he has taken the past year and a half off from working, he was previously employed by the university.
Before his leave, Crisp worked at UPIKE for seven years and during that time he held a few different titles, including admissions counselor, transfer coordinator in the admissions office, and federal work-study coordinator in the financial aid office.
However, one thing that has never changed over the course of the past years is Crisp’s love for helping students. He enjoys making things easier for them in whatever way he can. He said that his favorite thing is getting to help students and getting to know them and learning how he can best help them when they need it.
“It’s surreal and rewarding seeing the effect you have on students’ lives,” said Crisp.
He said that he is excited to work with Mandy Stacy, Ambria Ray, and the rest of the student success team helping students.
“The student success office serves a lot of different capacities and helps students in many different ways. We’re facilitators for student success,” Crisp said.
Crisp recently bought a new blue chair, which he loves, and said if you need to find him, look for the office in student success with the blue chair.
