UPIKE Bowling teams strike at Hoosier Classic

ool history as the first group to ever reach the semifinal at the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis. The Hoosier Classic is one of the biggest bowling events in the nation.
Matt Cleary, a fourth-year bowler, talked about what this event meant to him.
“This year is his fourth-year bowling in the Hoosier Classic, and it is the hardest event that I have bowled in,” Cleary said.
There were 78 teams that competed in the Hoosier Classic this year, and the Bears placed sixth. William Penn defeated in the Bears 2-0 after the Bears topped the third ranked Calumet Team 2-1.
The Women’s Bowling team finished 14th out of 66 teams in the tournament. The Lady Bears total score finished at 8,201, only six spots away from a top 8 seed on the championship bracket. Jenna Coldiron finished in 28th place out of 528 bowlers competing.
The next competition for both teams is the Mid-South Conference Tournament on Feb. 22-25 in Bowling Green, Ky.
