Mountain Laurel candidates visit chapel

The University of Pikeville Chapel is on the sixth floor of the Record Memorial Building, and chapel service starts at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with the university’s Chaplain, Rob Musick. Chapel service consists of a routine that includes music, prayer, scripture reading, and a message. On Tuesday, Feb. 6, the chapel had the Mountain Laurel Festival candidates visiting to listen to the word of God. Musick started the service with a prayer and then read a scripture from Mark 1:28 -39. The audience read along with him. Musick read line, and then the whole audience read a line as well. Musick then preached and he explained what inner peace and wise counsel is. There were then two song selections performed, “Wonderful Words of Life” and “Amazing Grace. Chapel ended with prayer. Musick announced on Friday through Sunday, Feb. 16-18, there will be an interfaith trip to Cincinnati, and Sunday, Feb. 18 at 7 in Booth Auditorium, a new service with Trinity Harvest Church will begin.
