On Thursday, Nov. 16 the University of Pikeville hosted several members of different faiths to have a discussion as part of its spiritual emphasis week.
The panel was made up of Rabbi Jean Eglinton representing Judaism, Dr. Agus Sofyan representing Islam, Drs. Rakesh and Seema Sachdeva representing Hinduism, and Rev. Jerry Utt representing Protestant Christianity.
“It was intriguing to learn about the qualities of different religions that were very misunderstood. The panel did an excellent job explaining the real qualities to enlighten people who were misinformed,” junior psychology major Kelsie Williams said.
The event was attended by about 50 students and members of the community.
