The UPIKE men’s and women’s bowling teams competed in two tournaments Sept. 24 and 25. Both teams won first place in the Louisville Collegiate Classic. Karlee Evans, Megan Hedgespeth, and Jenna Coldiron placed in the top ten for the varsity women and led the Bears to victory. The women’s varsity team had a total of 7,652 pins. Matthew Cleary and Alex Hoffman led the men’s varsity division and placed in the top five. The men’s varsity team had a total pin fall of 7,827. “Hands down, it was the most successful weekend we have had in my time at UPIKE. From the way we decided to play the lanes to the way the team handled the adversity that with losing and the regaining a 200 pin lead in the span of two games. I’m very proud of my teammates for their performances from the JV teams to the varsity team, it really was a complete performance,” said senior Brandon Dubuc. The Burris Memorial tournament was Sunday, Sept. 25. The men’s team won first place, and the women’s team took second place.
