Hosted by Humanities on The Hill, Reflections is an art exhibit which showcases artwork by Kimberley Hylton, Andrea Pagie, and Marinalda Ralston. All of the artists are current students. Their artwork will be display for the rest of January in Weber Art Gallery. The art gallery is located in the Record Memorial building on the second level. The works contain different types of sculptures. Maleena Little, art gallery monitor, said, “I enjoy each piece. The art really showcases each individual’s true talents.” Little also said that her favorite of the bunch would have to be “Human Nature,” a piece by Hylton. The artwork is defined as mixed media. What separates this sculpture from the others is that it has a function. The sculpture was used to paint the two paintings displayed behind it on the wall. If you would like to meet and talk with the artists, an artist reception is being held on Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. “Please, come and talk to the artists! They each speak very clearly and passionately about their art. As the artists, they have the best voice to talk about the artwork in the exhibit,”said Petra Carroll, associate professor of art.
