Basketball keeps winning

As students and staff went home for the long winter break to enjoy the holidays with their family and friends, the UPIKE Bears’ basketball team was in the most crucial part of their season. Since losing to Life University on Dec. 1, the Bears have had seven games and are a remarkable 6-1, making the Bears 18-4 overall and 4-3 in conference. “We are finally playing great basketball where everyone is involved,” senior point guard Ernest Clifford Rakes III said. Their next game is on Thursday against the rival Georgetown. The Bears are currently ranked 10th in the country as they have seven games left, and four of them home at the Expo Center. After the Bears complete their regular season, they’ll head to the MSC tournament that starts March 3.
