Study Abroad

UPIKE encourages students to break their own boundaries and study abroad. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about new cultures, and languages, and to meet new people.
Dr. Tm Whittier, professor of biology and director of study abroad, would like for students to talk to him about how they can study abroad somewhere.
“You just learn so much, so quickly, food, culture, and it doesn’t cost much,” said Whittier.
The cost varies from country to country. You pay for the tuition at UPIKE and learn in different countries. The trip next semester to Costa Rica, for example, will cost students about $1,200.
If you play a sport and are interested in studying abroad, you can go on a trip during your off season.
UPIKE offers a $1,000 scholarship to almost anyone that applies for study abroad.
If you are interested, Whittier encourages you to contact him by email, timothywhittier@upike.edu, or at his office, (606)-218-5470.
