Pink Ladies Club meets, plans events

UPIKE’s Pink Ladies Club had its first meeting Thursday, Sept. 22 to talk about upcoming events. The club promotes breast cancer awareness on campus and the local community. “My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and I wanted to get involved with the Pink Ladies to help our community be more aware of breast cancer like others did for her,” said Kennedy King, current club president. The club plans on making hard candies for cancer patients, running together in Paint Pikeville Pink on Oct. 1, and participating in a Zumbathon sometime in the future. The club is welcoming new members, so if you’re interested in spreading awareness about breast cancer, contact King by email at kennedyking@upike.edu.
