The UPIKE Junior Varsity baseball team picked up mixed results in a double-header last Thursday, tying game one 8-8, then picking up a 15-3 loss against Alice Lloyd.
UPIKE was down 5-1 late in the game. After a late rally, the lead changed multiple times and the bears forced extra innings to push out an 8-8 final.
In the second game, the Bears were simply outmatched, suffering a 15-3 loss.
Logan Sales, student assistant coach, has been helping the team and believes they have a lot of promising talent.
“We did a lot of good things. There’s a lot to fix, but I think we are coming along well,” said Sales.
The JV Bears look to bounce back this week.
