Bears sweep

The UPIKE baseball team went 1-2 against Lindsey Wilson on the weekend of March 10, to start conference play. The team could have easily taken two games from the Raiders, but the Bears were just a hit shy here and there. Although starting out 1-2 in conference play, that didn’t put the Bears down. They headed to Lebanon, Tenn. on March 18, for their second conference series of the year, and they came back on top with a weekend sweep. “There was nothing better than that. That was the most fun I’ve had here as a baseball player,” senior Logan Sales said. Taking three games from Cumberland University was the first time the Bears swept a conference series since 2007 against West Virginia Tech. The Bears are tied for first place in the Mid-South Conference standings, and they aren’t looking back. The Bears head to Portsmouth, Ohio, this weekend to take on Shawnee State.
