Upike Men to take on Lindsay Wilson College

After getting past Lindsey Wilson on Saturday in the regular-season finale, second-seeded University of Pikeville will face the seventh-seeded Blue Raiders again at 2 p.m. ET on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Championship in the Frankfort Convention Center.

UPIKE is 17-12 all time in the conference tournament, including three championships in 2014, 2003 and 2001. The Bears have captured three regular-season titles in 2015, 2014 and 2001.
The conference tournament begins on Thursday with a first-round game, followed by four quarterfinal contests on Friday, the semifinals on Saturday and the championship game slated for 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Georgetown is the top seed after capturing the regular-season title with a 13-3 league mark. The Tigers play the winner of the first-round game at 6 p.m. on Friday.
No. 8-seed Cumberland (Tenn.) and ninth-seeded St. Catharine open the tournament at Noon on Thursday. The winner advances to playGeorgetown.
UPIKE and Lindsey Wilson open the quarterfinals on Friday, followed by No. 3-seed Cumberlands meeting sixth-seeded Life (Ga.) at 4 p.m.
Friday’s night session begins with No. 1 Georgetown playing the first round winner at 6 p.m., while the nightcap features fourth-seeded Campbellsville and No. 5-seed Shawnee State (Ohio) at 8 p.m.
A tiebreaker was administered to determine the fourth and fifth seeds of the tournament. Campbellsville and Shawnee State tied for fourth in the regular-season standings with 8-8 conference records. Campbellsville earned the No. 4 seed based its sweep of SSU during the regular season.
