Dean meets with UPIKE students

On Nov. 9, UPIKE held its second Dean’s meeting of the semester in Booth Auditorium. This meeting brought out many question from the students regarding academics at UPIKE and future plans. Dean Watson also addressed upcoming events such as Thanksgiving break, residence life, the new laundry website, and the midnight breakfast. Watson also opened the floor to the students in attendance to give ideas about what activities should be held on campus to make UPIKE more fun. The students suggested that there should be an Open Mic Night in the lounge once a month to allow students to get together. Students also suggested a van be scheduled to take students on a day trip Lexington. An on campus barber shop was also brought up, and the idea sparked many students’ interest. This could take place a few times a month to give students a chance to get their hair cut on campus for a slightly less expensive price than going to a barber shop in the community. Dean Watson took these suggestions into consideration and will try to incorporate as many as possible on the campus. If you have any question or suggestions, you can bring them up to Dean Watson, and she will be glad to answer and help make campus more enjoyable for students.
