FMA to host festival
0By christian Wright
For years, filmmakers in the region have struggled to find a forum to properly display their work. That struggle ends this semester with the announcement of the first University of Pikeville Film and Media Arts Festival, being held May 1 and 2.
Created by FMA majors Aaron Asbury and David Chapman and sponsored by Assistant Professor of Film and Media Arts Andrew Reed, the UPIKE FMA Fest will be an outlet for both students in Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia, ranging from middle school to college, and professional filmmakers to show off their work in public while being able to meet and interact with other filmmakers about their craft.
The FMA Fest will accept entries from all types and genres of film, from shorts, feature-length movies, animations, and music videos.
The deadline to submit is April 15. For more information, visit fmafest.org or email fmafest@upike.edu.
