Phi Beta Lamba members travel to fall leadership conference
0Equipped with the largest group out of the six Kentucky schools in attendance, UPIKE’s Phi Beta Lambda members traveled to the Fall Leadership conference on the campus of Kentucky-Weslyan College in Owensboro, Ky.
The conference consisted of a series of speakers and workshops which were based on interview skills, training, and activity reporting for the groups in attendance. Also, there was extensive information provided about what PBL is as an organization and how it helps its young members with scholarships and networking opportunities that will prepare them for the future. With currently 16 schools in Kentucky that have a chapter of PBL, it is the largest career orientated group and is available to all majors.
Attendees of the conference from UPIKE’s PBL chapter included President Andrea Guzman, Bobby Hurley, Blake Scroggins, Courtney Collins, and Advisor/Accounting Professor Lois Rogers.
“We found this event very useful on the basis of sharing ideas on recruiting and social events with other PBL chapters, and the chance to network with the other schools was fantastic,” Rogers said.
Phi Beta Lambda is still accepting members and is open to all majors on campus. Any student can sign up to attend any meeting via email of Guzman.
